This is one of my favourite quotes:
“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.” – Swami Vivekananda
This is where I have been going wrong.
You can have all the talent and perseverance in the world, but if you don’t know what to apply it to you are toast.
Worse, if you try to apply it to the five different career paths and business ideas all vying for your attention, you are a seriously fried bit of toast.
It’s a fabulous recipe for self-loathing and frustration. (I speaketh from personal experience.)
Unless you are some sort of multi-tasking genius, it guarantees you’ll take underachieving to new unchartered heights.
From now on I’m taking Swami Vivekananda’s route – a single, winding path which I’ll stick to come thick or thin; over mountains, through swamps, over rapids and through waterfalls …until I come to one ultimate destination.
This is my way to success from now on.
